TWO SONS · DIRECTION REVIEW

Two treatments, one box

Same brand, same photography, same information architecture — so the difference you are judging is volume and point of view rather than content. Everyday is the container; Loud is the caption.

01

EVERYDAY

Everyday Taiwan. The neighbourhood lunch counter, boxed.

POSITIONING
The lunch shop that packs one box properly, every weekday, until the pot is empty.
PERSONALITY
Warm, matter-of-fact, mildly opinionated. Observational, never sentimental.
VISUAL THESIS
Cream and sand bands stacked like shelves, brown display type, navy section heads, and an illustrated badge per ingredient. Commerce graphics — tickets, stamps, icon borders — not restaurant branding.
TYPE
Space Grotesk for body copy, Archivo for headlines, labels and the logotype, Space Mono for the status bar and order ticket, Noto Serif TC for the Chinese.
ART DIRECTION
Daylight, real plates, the family in their own kitchen. Illustration carries the ingredients; photography carries the proof.
DIFFERENTIATED BECAUSE
It treats a $14 lunch as a product with a receipt, not a dining experience.
02

LOUD

Loud internet. The lunch that makes a scene.

POSITIONING
The anti-sad-lunch operation: one enormous box of braised pork rice, sold until the pot dies.
PERSONALITY
Loud, funny, a little bossy. Jokes come from lunch and from the pot, never from slang.
VISUAL THESIS
Heavy black rules, tiled panels, rotated stickers and a ticker. The same badges and photos, cropped hard and set on magenta. Built to be legible in a cropped screenshot.
TYPE
Archivo Black at absurd sizes, Space Grotesk for body copy, Space Mono for badges, Noto Sans TC Black for single characters used as graphics.
ART DIRECTION
The same photography, but bigger, tighter and unapologetic. Deliberately unpolished, never messy.
DIFFERENTIATED BECAUSE
The volume comes from lunch-counter urgency and Taiwanese signage, not from meme templates.

STRONGEST STRATEGY01 EVERYDAY

Everyday lunch is a territory nobody in this category owns, and the banded layout with an illustrated badge per ingredient extends to packaging, signage and a second dish later without changing anything.

STRONGEST VISUAL02 LOUD

Recognisable from a cropped screenshot at 40px wide. The risk is longevity: this identity is loud in month one and tiring by month twelve unless the copy keeps earning it.

STRONGEST COMMERCIALLY01 EVERYDAY

Price, hours, sizes and pickup are visible without scrolling, and the order-ticket module reads as a real transaction rather than a brand moment.

HYBRID01 structure + 02 voice

Keep Everyday's bands, badges, ticket typography and food-derived palette on the site and the packaging, then let the social copy and the window signage get as blunt and funny as Loud. Calm on the container, loud in the caption.
